The bits (and kibbles) on Bruce:
Nickname(s): He has so many! Cat, Chicken Leg, Chubs, Stinker,
Sleep-a-thon, Bear…Age: 3 years and 5 months
Tell us how Bruce came into your life.
My boyfriend at the time surprised me on Christmas morning—Bruce charged in wearing a gingerbread-man shirt.
Where are his favorite NYC hangouts?
Well, Bruce is part of a true modern family, since my ex and I share joint custody. He gets the best of both worlds, uptown and down. He spends part time at the Plaza Hotel (very Eloise of him), so he loves going to Central Park and watching the ducks in the lake or saying hi to the horses. He also hangs out on the hotel steps with the doormen, like he owns the place, which is quite the sight to see! When he’s hanging out on the Lower East Side with me, our routine is pretty low key.
We’ll sit outside D’Espresso or 88 Orchard and just people-watch.
What’s the best thing about having your pooch?
He makes me laugh! I love this little dance he does when I walk in the door—he’ll grab a toy in his mouth and shake his butt around—it’s the cutest thing ever.
What are Bruce’s splurge foods?
Bananas and bacon.
If your pup had a human voice, whose would it sound like?
That’s a tough one, but probably Alec Baldwin.
Any interest in designing clothes for the four-legged?
Dog dress up isn’t for me. I think it’s sort of silly when I see pooches in head-to-toe outfits. But…he does have a few weather jackets from Mungo & Maud that he wears in the rain or snow. He’s really too chubby to wear anything else!
